これまでよく探索してこなかった場所にフカフカのシルト泥の環境を見つけた。少し動けばたちまち煙幕を張ってしまうその環境には、これまで当地では見てこなかった様々なハゼがいた。このホシゾラハゼもその1種。散りばめられた青い点が輝いている。
私にとっての初見は西表島であり、あまり巣穴から出てこない臆病なイメージがあったけれど、当地では活発に採餌に勤しんでいた。
I found a soft, silty environment in a place I hadn’t explored much before. The moment I moved, the whole area became a haze of sediment. In this environment, I encountered various gobies that I had not seen in Singapore. This goby is one of them. It shines with embedded blue spots.
My first encounter with this species was in Iriomote Island Japan, where I had an image of them being timid and rarely coming out of their burrows. However, here, they were actively foraging and seemed more lively.
