Eventually, three years had passed since my last private trip for abroad. World requires some weird protocol against any activity but, still we would say it is definitely better than nothing. Thus, taking this relaxing opportunity, I decided to head to KL, Malaysia for birding.
Talking about my recent birding, honestly, I had felt some tiredness about a birding in Singapore. Probability of encountering lifer bird is getting low and low, of course, and, on the top of that, a crazily crowded birding is sometime too much for me. So to say, I needed to refresh or reset a idea regarding exploring wildlife.
It was a so fruitful birding, I am not just talking about the number of lifer, but it reminds me what the birding is or enjoying a calm and quiet birding in a isolated place. Some enthusiasms is come back about exploring (above water) nature, there is a value definitely to pay a effort for pushing a boundary, not concluding myself with a confined world.
出発の5日前に急遽思い立ちアレンジを始めたKL探鳥。
シンガポールから飛行機で1時間の距離にあり、よく似た文化圏のお隣の国マレーシアですから、本来は楽勝ムードの行き先です。が、コロナ禍を経て、カルチャーショックの波状攻撃をさばく腕なんざスッカリ錆びき、外貨を両替するものドキドキな今の私にはちょうどいいリハビリ。慌てて入手したポケット図鑑と器材を手に飛行機に乗り込んだのもつかの間、深夜到着した空港からの脱出にスッタモンダ。事前入手していたSIMも動作しないし、前途多難な様相を呈して始まった旅でした。
結果としては、素晴らしいガイドに巡り合えたおかげで大満足の鳥見行となり、意を決して(?)国外にでてよかったと心から思えるものとなりました。実は、当地シンガポールでの探鳥に段々と閉塞感を感じ始め、鳥見の楽しさを見失いつつあったのですが、世界は広い！ということを今回の旅で再発見し、野生生物の探索欲を取り戻すことができたのがなによりの収穫でした。では、以下御笑覧くださいませ。
Day-1: Ulu Langat Lowland Forest
It is located in the east of KL city, 2hours by car distance.
Rufous-backed Kingfisher known as Dwarf Kingfisher previously and separated into two. Another one, Black-backed Kingfisher is found is Singapore but this is not. Complex color is appeared when it is lighted in a dark forest. The other guy, Rufous-colored Kingfisher, which is extinct in Singapore, can survive without drinking water.Talking about Broadbills, four are observed in first day. Black-and-yellow Broadbills is seen several individuals, cute appearance with a bright blue bill.
